Hello friends,today i am going to tell u about shot division. I love this part in film making because shot division shows the caliber of a director how well he can shoot a scene. Hope u people are aware what is the meaning of shot division..Before that please don't get confused between a scene and a shot. Both of them are different. To tell u clearly..
Scene: A scene is nothing but change of location...or a combination of various shots with respect to same location i.e here no location change takes place.That is for example please have a look at the image below. Below is the snap shot of a scene which is written by me long time back. Image depicts how a scene looks like.

Shot: Whereas, a shot is nothing but the duration between the camera on and off ( i.e) for example just follow the above image...that very scene can be divided into many number of shots depending upon the visual power of an individual without disturbing the rhythm of the motion picture so that viewer doesn't get confused. This shot division differs from individual to other because there is no rule for dividing a scene into many number of shots..Getting confused...? So, let me explain..

In the above scene location is Abhiram's house:
So, first shot would be showing a house and this nothing but an establishing shot..Name is as 1A i.e nothing but A denotes first shot in scene one.
Showing this house can be done in many number of ways..
It can be a TILT SHOT or it can be a MEDIUM SHOT or it can be a WIDE SHOT..choosing a shot is directors choice and it can be different from one individual to another since ideas and creativity can't be same with everyone :)
After that this scene happens to taking place at Abhiram's bedroom..so now it can be a MEDIUM SHOT or a LONG SHOT or a PAN from one part of the room.
Else, a closeup shot of a clock, etc., can be done to establish that Abhiram is lazy..THESE CAN BE NAMED AS SCENE NO:1B,1C SO ON DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF SHOTS U ARE GOING TO DIVDE A SCENE.
Like this, we will just divide each and every action written in the action part of the script into different shots.Shot division plays an important role in film making.
I have already told u that the method of dividing shots depends upon the particular individual like how he see's it in his visualization. There are few ways and methods for dividing a shot. So the u will not get confused while dividing it. I will tell u those methods in my next post. Please comment if u have any doubt about this post.

How many of us know that one of the greatest film makers in the Bengali cinema started off his career with his movie being crowd-funded? Although this took place way back in 1978 when the concept was yet to take birth in India, the movie went on to win the best feature film award in Hindi. It was none other than Shyam Benegal, who got each member of the Gujarat Milk Co-operatives to contribute Rs.2 towards production of his film Manthan.
That gets us thinking of the potential of crowdfunding as a platform to raise funds for not only film makers but anybody wanting to realise his/her dream. Besides Benegal, there have been other such people who have had faith in crowdfunding and have succeeded in achieving their targets.
Here are some of the top crowdfunding projects in India that smelt success:
I Am: After My brother Nikhil, Anirban Dhar (Onir) hit a rough patch with the movies that followed. “Crowdfunding was more of a necessity than a deliberate decision,” says Onir in an interview with IBNLive. However, he did manage to raise Rs.80 lakh from around 450 contributors for his film I Am which went on to win the National award. It remains the highest amount crowd-funded for a project in India.
Lucia: It only took Pawan Kumar, the director of Lucia, to write an exasperated blog post called “Making Enemies” to generate interest in it. After his previous film Lifeu Ishtena Kumar had been trying to get someone to listen to his next script. Ten days post the write-up, several strangers came together to donate whatever little they could to make his dream come true. Eighteen months after the campaign on Catapooolt, Lucia was released in the theatres.
Biosense Technologies: Bionsense, a Mumbai-based medical technology company, disproved the theory that only film makers succeed in crowdfunding. By March 2013, the company founded by a team of doctors, engineers, and product designers managed to raise $500,000 for its urine analysis application called uChek on Indiegogo.
Cutthroat: With independent projects catching up in the industry, Sarthak Dasgupta, a Mumbai-based film maker joined the crowdfunding club. After his debut, The Great Indian Butterfly, Dasgupta marketed his project on Catapoolt, raising Rs.8 lakh within three months. “Crowdfunding is not just about raising money. It is also about marketing to the right audience and gaining traction even before a project is started,” he says in an email interview with IANS.
Attuned Spirits: After a short stint of being a part of a band in Boston, Vasudha Sharma decided to release her own pop-folk fusion album in India. “We are all scared of failure and starting such a campaign in a country like India where the concept of crowdfunding is new to people, this was indeed a challenge,” says the singer in an interview with Hindustan Times. She went to raise Rs.5.72 lakh for her album through her campaign on Wishberry.in.
Placebo: It is not just mainstream cinema that has been making waves in crowdfunding. Film maker Abhay Kumar created a new record with his documentary Placebo, raising over Rs.5 lakh in a year’s time.
A Kind of a True Story: Who knew a musical would achieve its target within 22 days of its campaign? Actors’ cult, a Mumbai theatre group, did just that with a campaign trying to raise money for a contemporary musical on Wishberry.in. Even before the campaign could end, they achieved more than they had set a target of Rs.2, 50, 000.
Kashish film festival: “We were unsure if people would contribute money to support a film festival, but the response has been tremendous,” said Rangayan, the festival director of Kashish, thus proving that film festivals weren’t far behind the crowdfunding scene in India.
One rupee film project: Anamitra Roy, known for not spending a penny for his independent film Little Fish Eat Big Fish started the One rupee film project in 2012. The project managed to raise more than Rs.2000 in just six hours. After raising more than a lakh within fourteen months of the campaign, he started the production for the film in early 2013.
Ketto: Film star Kunal Kapoor and Varun Seth, through their online portal Ketto, that connects non-profits and other companies to create social impact, planned on raising about a crore for the company. “Crowdfunding is a big disruption for financial services industry, it cuts the middlemen away,” said Seth in an interview with mint.
According to the National Crowdfunding Association of India report, more than 150 projects in India have been crowd-funded. The numbers of people contributing to projects have only been increasing.

He grabbed, seized, robbed and looted the wealth from big shots and distributed equally among poor, deprived and have-nots. He along with his gang blocked the highways and looted the wealth. Who is he????
These are the first four lines of the first stanza of a heroic ballad on Pandugolla Sayanna sung by Dakkali folk artist using Kinara Instrument. Pandugolla Sayanna or Pandaga Sayanna belongs to Palamooru also known as Mahaboobnagar District, Telangana Region, Andhra Pradesh.
He was Messiah of the poor. But for Pandugolla Sayanna “The Poorest among the poor is not one”. Again, he called “women as the poorest among the poor”.
A Century ago, many poor could afford for two full meals. Forget about the marriages and other expenses. Those who could not afford for " Pustalu” (Pustalu means Mangala Sutra considered as sacred thread with gold plates kind which is tied by the bridegroom around bride’s neck for culmination of marriage). Pandugolla Sayanna got “ Pustalu-Mangal Sutra” and “ Mettalu-toe rings” done for marriage ceremonies and also borne marriage expenses of the poor in fourteen villages. Those days girls were married off at a very young age to protect and safeguard against the wick eyes of the landlords and rich merchants (if any family failed to marry off their daughters at appropriate time i.e., after attaining puberty), they would fall as prey to evil landlords and Patels. Marriages incurred huge expense too. So, Sayanna extended financial assistance to them.
Few Scholars called Pandugolla Sayanna as Social Bandit. Others called him as Robinhood of Telangana. Few others went to the extent of calling him as Revolutionary Hero.
Who was this Sayanna?
Common people opined that Pandugolla Sayanna was neither a thief nor a bandit. He was “Hero” of the poor people. He was a brave and heroic man who saved and reinstated poor people’s health, wealth and lives. They considered him as a their own “blood relative”.
Pandugolla Sayanna was born in a Meruginipalle village in Mahaboobnagar district. He was born in a “Tenuga” family. (Tenuga meaning person engaging in maintaining gardens, gardening work and related works) on Muhorram day. His parents could not afford to send him to school due to acute poverty. He was thus engaged in the family occupation.
He also got himself trained at “Samigaridi”-Country exercise learning center. His passion and commitment made him to excel in more than one sport like weight lifting, other physical exercise Sayanna had six “dosts”- Friends and together they formed a ‘Gang’. All well with good physique regularly practiced at “Samagaridi”.
How did Sayanna look like?
Unfortunately, no picture or photograph of Pandagolla Sayanna is available till date. But yes, a per the Dakhali folk artists narration, it is believed that Sayanna was 6”feet and had the strong build physique. He had long and sharp nose, dark bushy moustache that he used to curl it and extend till both ears. In due course Sayanna built up relationships with Telugu Narasamma, a beautiful woman who became his companion too. She fell for his “Pedikadu nadumu” meaning, his waist measured one fist- to say, he had slender waist and broad built up shoulders measuring three fists. To say, Pandugolla Sayanna was well built and handsome.
Just the mention of his name sent cold shivers to Nizam rulers and district officials. In order to capture Pandugolla Sayanna red handed “qufiya police” became shadow followers.
When Nizam ruler declared and passed GO-Government Order to observe Muharram festivity in Nizam State, coincidentally this also marked Pandugolla Sayanna’s birthday too.
It is also said that Sayanna’s mother’s did not have issue for long, so she vowed during “Phir” (Phir is the muslim fair) and Sayanna was born on Moharrum day. So the practice of preparing “Kandura” on Muharram day began. He kept this ‘Riwaj’-practice preparing Kandura for Moharrum day till he survived.
In order to prepare “Kandura” that implies sacrificing of sheep and goats, he blocked the Tandur route and robbed twelve bastas (bags) of rice and six sheep flock from passers by Golla Chennaiah. Golla Channaiah fell at his feet, placed his head in the Pandugolla Saunas belly and pleaded to return the same as he was a poor man and had a large family to feed. This sends a kind of hunger churning feel inside is stomach out of ‘daya and jali’. -As he could feel the hunger cramps of the poor, so Golla Chennaiah was spared and his flocks were returned back.
So, he then robbed the sheep flock from Venkata Reddy Jamindar (Landlord) of the town and prepared Kandura and and arranged a grand feast for the poor. Sayanna use to think ‘how that big landlords and well-off are able to accumulate wealth, where as, poor tend to remain poor. Struggling to eat two mouthful even on festival days’. He often discussed the differences of acts and possession of haves and have-nots with his dosts and would discuss the strategies and remedial measures to the upliftment of the poor. According to Pandugolla Sayanna the only remedy for upliftment of the poor was to “snatch from the haves and distribute to the have-nots”-thus he sought as natural justice. Pandugolla Sayanna common poor representative was kind and generous towards them. He condemned hegemony of rich and revolted against the hegemonical atrocity.
Jamindar Venkata Reddy built up enmity with Pandugolla Sayanna and also intended to take revenge for his act.
As the Dakkali’s narrate: It was a kind of hide and seek game played between Pandugolla Sayanna and the Police.
“They would search in the nook and corner of the villages,
He would be hiding behind bushes,
They would search in hillocks,
He would wander freely in the streets,
If they would search in the villages, hillocks or streets,
He would be floating in the air, behind thorny spines of palm tree”.
His dark curly moustache and bread would get camouflage with the palm leaves.
A Century ago, the Nizam rulers, Patels, Karanams and Patwaris came together during “Milaqat”- common understanding / agreement of squeezing people with the extra burden of taxes under the name of “Nizam Farmana”.
They started issuing “Dandaga”-simply looting common people and peasants. Common people and peasants were living in poverty, in a helpless state. So, youth like Sayanna revolted against this practice. As a consequence they were captured and remanded by Police.
Poor Telugu Narasamma was threatened and also taken into confidence by Police, landlords to capture Sayanna. Sayanna born in a poor family and grew seeing poverty had great sympathy for poor and deprived. Poor people called him “Dharmatama” for his kind attitude and supported his act.

As the Dakkali’s sing the song during narration “Papamedi chayaledu Pandugolla Sayanna” meaning “Pandugolla Sayanna did not commit any sin, it is the rich and landlords who kick our belly during the day and night”-they are wicked and not Pandugolla Sayanna.
However, one fine day Pandugolla Sayanna was captured by Qufiya police with great difficulty with the support of landlords, and other wealthy people who intended Sayana’s captivity and remanded him in an Iron cage. Even after capturing and deploying him in an iron cage, police feared to touch or go near Pandugolla Sayanna.
Hearing the news of his capture, people from fourteen villages staged protest around officials and police stations. They cried, wept and fell at the feet of police, landlords, wealthy people to release him.

Rani Shankarama (1840-1912) of Vanaparthi Samasthana with soft corner was ready to pay a sum of Rs 10, 000/- (amount equivalent to the looted amount by Sayanna) to the police.
However, not much of literature available about the political administration and understandings of Samasthanas, Nizam rulers, police and landlords of that period and the exact mission to kill Pandugolla Sayanna. The officials and police were unable to answer and failed to manage the crowd and said “Sayannani champakapothe, Desham dakhaniyadu, Pandugolla Sayanna, Rajyam dakhaniyadu- if Sayanna is not killed, he would not allow the Country to prosper”. So, in order to behead Sayanna’s head Thalagondala Venkanna was called.
Sayanna mother’s cry fell on deaf ears of the authorities and rulers. Sayanna consoled his mother saying “Mother place my bust size statue near the well used for drinking, I shall still protect my people”.
Even in the iron cage nobody dared to go near Sayanna. So, Sayanna himself called Thalagonda Venkanna and shared the secrets of his death
“Na Pikalu Chirura (Tear off my calf muscles)
Rekkalu Chirura, (Tear off the backside of upper arm)
Aapudaithe Pothadi, (Then shall I breath last )
Nadi pranam Venkanna” (Oh! Venkanna)
Dakkali folk artists beautifully narrate further that
“Muppairendula Tavizalu Egalaleka lechi paye” (32 Tabiz flew like a comb of houseflies flying away)
“Muppairendula tavizalau garuda pakshilula yegiraipoye” (32 tabiz jumped high in the air like “ bird Garuda-belonging to eagle’s family”.
Then, Sayanna’s body fell on the earth kissing the dust of his motherland. Though, government officials, police all had captured him still prayed towards the dead corpse of Sayanna saying:
“Annara Sayanna, O! Pandugolla Sayanna, (Oh! Brother Pandugolla Sayanna)
Padiyatala Pala Bheeyam ( 10 quintals of quality rice)
Yeta yeta Kandura Chesthamu, (Shall prepare Kandura)
Bhakthithodaneeku (With whole heratedly shall serve you)
Ma Kutumbani Rakshichu, (Protect our families)
Chedayemi Cheyaku” (Don’t cast wrath on us).
Consoling his mother, came the words in the air
“ Adarodu thali Sayamma, (Don’t be scared Sayanna’s mother)
Bedarodu thali Sayamma, (Do not panic oh! Sayanna’s mother)
Niyanakane Untannu, (Shall always be remain with you)
Apudu enka Sayanna devodainilichadu” (So, saying he ever lived like a God)
Even after 125 years, when Dakkali Folk artists narrate the heroic tale of Pandugolla Sayanna still reverberates and echoes in the villages in Mahaboobnagar and one can visualize Sayanna before them when the Dakkali folk artist narrate the story using Kinara instrument.
Today, due to the sudden demise of Dakkali folk artists due sickness, illness the “Sound Picture” of Sayanna is fading off.
There is a need to reward these folk artists who are still preserving and safeguarding these kinds of heroic ballads and narrations through folklore medium. Unfortunately, they are neither recognised or rewarded till date! Will they be??????

బాలీవుడ్ తెరపై చూడాలేగాని ముస్లిం పాత్రలు బోలెడన్ని. ముస్లిం సంస్కృతిని ప్రదర్శించే సన్నివేశాలు బహూత్ అన్ని. 1947లో మన దేశం ఇండియా పాకిస్తాన్గా విడిపోయింది. దేశ విభజన సమయంలో లోతైన గాయాలు ఇరువైపులా మిగిలాయి. అయినప్పటికీ భారతీయ సినిమా ఆ గాయాల జోలికి పోకుండా ముస్లిం సంస్కృతిని తన కథలో అవిభాజ్యం చేసుకుంది. దానికి తోడు మహబూబ్ఖాన్, కె.ఆసిఫ్, కె.ఎ.అబ్బాస్, కమాల్ అమ్రోహి వంటి దర్శకులు... అబ్రార్ అల్వి, నాసిర్ హుసేన్, సలీమ్-జావెద్ వంటి రచయితలు... సాహిర్ లుధియాన్వి, మజ్రూ సుల్తాన్పురి, కైఫీ ఆజ్మీ వంటి కవులు వీరంతా ముస్లిం సంస్కృతి అవసరమైనప్పుడు తెర మీద ఎంతో హుందాగా గొప్పగా ప్రతిబింబింప చేయగలిగారు. ఇక బాలీవుడ్లో స్థిరపడిన అభిప్రాయం- అందమైన హీరోలంతా పంజాబ్ నుంచి అయి ఉంటారు, చక్కటి హీరోయిన్లంతా ముస్లింలై ఉంటారు అనేది అందరికీ తెలిసిందే. సురయ్య, నర్గిస్, మధుబాల (అసలు పేరు ముంతాజ్), మీనాకుమారి (అసలు పేరు మహెజబీన్) ... వీరంతా భారతీయ వెండితెరను ఏలిన తారలు.
మొఘల్-ఏ-ఆజమ్
అంతవరకూ సహాయక పాత్రలుగా, హాస్యపాత్రలుగా కనిపించిన ముస్లిలను మొఘల్-ఏ-ఆజమ్ (1960) సినిమా చారిత్రక పరంపరకు వారసులుగా చూపించింది. సలీం, అనార్కలీల ప్రేమను మహాచక్రవర్తి అయిన అక్బర్ నిలువరించడం తండ్రి కొడుకుల మధ్య ఘర్షణ జరగడం ఇవన్నీ చరిత్రలో అనాధారితమే అయినా ఈ సినిమాతో అదంతా ప్రేక్షకులు నమ్మి తీరే కథ అయ్యింది. సలీమ్గా దిలీప్ కుమార్, అనార్కలిగా మధుబాల వెండితెర మీద మరణమే లేని జంటను సృష్టించగలిగారు. ఆ తర్వాత మెల్లగా లక్నో ముస్లింల సంస్కృతి వెండి తెర మీద ఆవిష్కృతమైంది. ‘మేరే మెహబూబ్’ (1963) సినిమా ముస్లిం ప్రేమికుల కథల్లో ఉండే సౌందర్యాన్ని, కవిత్వాన్ని ప్రేక్షకులకు చూపెడితే లక్నో తవాయిఫ్ల జీవితాలను వ్యాఖ్యానిస్తూ వచ్చిన ‘పాకీజా’ (1971) ప్రేక్షకుల చేత జేజేలు అందుకుంది. ఈ టైమ్లోనే అరేబియాలో విస్తృతంగా వ్యాప్తిలో ఉన్న లైలా మజ్నూల ప్రేమ కథ ‘లైలా మజ్నూ’ (1976)గా హిందీలో విడుదలైంది. లైలాగా రంజితా, మజ్నూగా రిషికపూర్ నటించారు. ‘కోయి పత్థర్ సే నా మారే మేరే దీవానేకో’ పాట ఇందులో పెద్ద హిట్.
జంజీర్... షోలే.... కూలీ...
ఇటు ఈ తరహా సినిమాలు వస్తుంటే రచనారంగంలో సలీమ్ జావేద్ల రాకతో బలమైన క్యారెక్టర్స్ కనిపించడం మొదలెట్టాయి. ‘జంజీర్’ (1973)లో ఇన్స్పెక్టర్ అయిన అమితాబ్కు ప్రాణ స్నేహితుడైన పఠాన్ షేర్ ఖాన్గా ప్రాణ్ కనిపిస్తాడు. షోలే (1975)లో బందిపోటు గబ్బర్ సింగ్ క్రూరత్వానికి తన ముక్కుపచ్చలారని కుమారుణ్ణి బలి ఇచ్చిన గుడ్డి తండ్రి ఇమామ్ సాబ్గా కె.ఎ.హంగల్ చాలా గట్టిగా గుండెను తాకుతాడు. మరోవైపు దర్శకుడు మన్మోహన్ దేశాయ్ దేశంలో ఉన్న మూడు మతాల ప్రేక్షకులను దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని సినిమాలు తీసే ఫార్ములాను ప్రతిపాదించాడు. అతడి ‘అమర్ అక్బర్ ఆంథోని’ (1977) సూపర్ డూపర్ హిట్. అతడే ‘కూలీ’ (1983)లో అమితాబ్ను ‘ఇక్బాల్’ అనే ముస్లిం పాత్రగా చేసి అతడితో పాటు ఉండే గద్దకు ‘అల్లారఖా’ అని పేరు పెట్టాడు. అమితాబ్ చేతి రైల్వే కూలీ లెసైన్సు బిళ్ల నం.786 కావడం ఈ సమయంలోనే షూటింగ్లో అమితాబ్ ప్రాణాపాయం వరకూ వెళ్లి బయటపడటం పెద్ద సెంటిమెంట్ సంగతి.
బాంబే... గదర్...
కాలం మారింది. బాబ్రీ మసీదు ఘటన తర్వాత కథల ధోరణి మారింది. హిందూ ముస్లింల మధ్య ప్రేమ చర్చనీయాంశం అయ్యింది. 1995లో మణిరత్నం ‘బాంబే’ సినిమా పెద్ద సంచలనం. అందులో ముస్లిం యువతి ‘సాయిరా బానూ’గా మనీషా కోయిరాలా చాలా హుందాగా కనిపిస్తుంది. మతాలు వేరైనా మనుషులూ వారి మధ్య ప్రేమ ఒక్కటే అని చెప్పే ఈ సినిమా ఆనాటి సమయంలో తీయడం పెద్ద సాహసమే అని చెప్పాలి. ఆ తర్వాత వచ్చిన ‘గదర్’ (2001) భారతదేశానికి చెందిన సిక్కు ట్రక్కు డ్రైవర్కు పాకిస్తాన్కు చెందిన గొప్పింటి ముస్లిం అమ్మాయికి మధ్య నడిచిన ప్రేమ కథగా భారీ హిట్ అయ్యింది. దీనికి కొనసాగింపుగా ఇంకొంచెం సున్నితంగా యశ్చోప్రా ‘వీర్జారా’ తీశాడు. ఇందులో కూడా పాకిస్తాన్ అమ్మాయి అయిన ప్రీతి జింటా కోసం ఇండియా అబ్బాయి షారూక్ పాకిస్తాన్ వెళతాడు.
జోధా అక్బర్... మై హూనా...
హిందూ అమ్మాయి ముస్లిం అబ్బాయిల ప్రేమకథ వెలితిని తీర్చడానికి చాలా భారీ స్థాయిలో వచ్చిన సినిమా ‘జోధా అక్బర్’ (2008). రాజపుత్రులకు చెందిన జోధా (ఐశ్వర్యరాయ్), మొఘలుల చక్రవర్తి అక్బర్ (హృతిక్ రోషన్) ఈ సినిమాను క్లాసిక్ స్థాయిలో నిలబెట్టారు. దీనికి కొద్దిగా ముందు క్రికెట్లో గొప్ప బౌలర్ కావాలని కలలు కన్న మూగ- చెవిటి పిల్లవాడు ‘ఇక్బాల్’ (2005), ‘చక్ దే ఇండియా’ (2007)లో మహిళా హాకీ టీమ్ను నిలబెట్టిన కోచ్ షారూక్లను గొప్ప ముస్లిం పాత్రలుగా నిలబెట్టాయి. ఈ సమయంలోనే అమెరికా ప్రదర్శిస్తున్న ముస్లిం వ్యతిరేక వైఖరిని నిరసిస్తూ షారూక్ ఖాన్ ‘మై నేమ్ ఈజ్ ఖాన్’ (2010) తీసి ముస్లిం ఆత్మగౌరవాన్ని ప్రకటిస్తాడు.
బజరంగీ భాయ్జాన్...
హిందీ సినిమా ఆది నుంచి హిందూ ముస్లింల మధ్య ఒక సాంస్కృతిక వారధిగా నిలుస్తూనే ఉంది. తాజా సినిమా బజరంగీ భాయ్జాన్ అందుకు ఒక ఉదాహరణ. ఇందులో తప్పిపోయిన బాలికను పాకిస్తాన్కు తీసుకువెళ్లిన బజరంగీ (సల్మాన్ఖాన్)కు చాంద్ నవాబ్ అనే జర్నలిస్ట్ (నవాజుద్దీన్ సిద్దిఖీ) సాయం చేస్తాడు. మతాలు వేరైనా దేశాలు వేరైనా మానవ స్పందనలు దయ, కరుణలు ఒకటే అని నిరూపిస్తాడు. అందరి రక్తమాంసాలు ఒకటే. పాత్రలూ ఒకటే. కాకపోతే వాటికి ఒక్కోసారి రామ్ అనీ మరోసారి రహీమ్ అని పేర్లు పెట్టుకుంటుంటాం అంతే. - సాక్షి ఫ్యామిలీ ప్రతినిధి
పర్దా హై...
ముస్లిం సంస్కృతి హిందీ సినిమాలకు ఖవ్వాలిని బహుమతిగా ఇచ్చింది. హిందీ సినిమాలలో బోలెడన్ని ఖవాలీలు హిట్స్గా నిలిచాయి. ‘నా తో కార్వాన్కి తలాష్ హై నా తో హమ్ సఫర్ కీ తలాష్ హై’ (బర్సాత్కీ రాత్), ‘నిగాహె మిలానె కొ జీ చాహ్తా హై’ (ది హి తో హై), ‘తేరి మెహఫిల్ మే కిస్మత్ ఆజ్మా కర్ హమ్ భి దేఖేంగే’ (మొఘల్ - ఏ- ఆజమ్)... ఇవన్నీ క్లాసిక్స్. అయితే మన్ మోహన్ దేశాయ్ అమర్ అక్బర్ ఆంథోనిలో తీసిన ‘పర్దా హై పర్దాహై’... ఖవ్వాలి చాలా పెద్ద హిట్.

అటవీ సంపద పై ఆదివాసులదే అధికారం అంటూ మన్యంలో మావోయిస్టులు పోరాటం ఉదృతం చేశారు. విశాఖపట్నం మన్యంలో ఒక వైపు బాక్సైట్ తవ్వకాలకు వ్యతిరేకంగా పోరాడుతున్న మావోయిస్టులు మరో వైపు కాఫీ తోటలను ఆదివాసుల పరం చేయాలంటూ ఉద్యమం ప్రారంభించారు. గూడెంకొత్తవీధి మండలంలోని ఆర్వీనగర్, లంక పాకల తదితర ప్రాంతాల్లో ఉన్న కాఫీ తోటలపై ఆదివాసులకే హక్కు ఉండాలంటూ చాలా కాలంగా డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్న మావోయిస్టులు ఇప్పుడు ప్రత్యక్ష కార్యాచరణలోకి దిగారు. బాక్సైట్ తవ్వకాలను వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ సాగుతున్న ఉద్యమంలో అధికార తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ నేతలోతో సహా ప్రతి ఒక్కరినీ కదిలించడంలో సఫలం అయిన అన్నలు ఇప్పుడు అటవీ సంపదంతా ఆదివాసులదేనంటూ ఉదృతం చేసిన ఉద్యమంలో కూడా ఆదివాసులందరినీ కలుపుక రావడంలో విజయం సాధించినట్టు కనపడుతోంది. శనివారం ఉదయం దాదాపు 300 ఆదివాసులు చాపరాతిపాలెం ప్రాంతం నుండి నలుగురు ఏపీఎఫ్ డీసీ ఉద్యోగులను పట్టుకెళ్ళి సాయంత్రానికి వదిలేశారు. కాఫీతోటలపై ఆదివాసులకు మాత్రమే హక్కు ఉండాలని, తోటల జోలికి ఏపీఎఫ్ డీసీ అధికారులు రావద్దని లేదంటే తీవ్ర పరిణామాలు ఎదుర్కోవాల్సి వస్తుందని ఉద్యోగులను హెచ్చరించినట్టు తెలిసింది. మరో వైపు బాక్సైట్ తవ్వకాలను నిలిపివేయాలనే డిమాండ్ తో తెలుగుదేశం నాయకులను పట్టుకెళ్ళి పది రోజుల తర్వాత వదిలేసి కొద్దిరోజులు కూడా గడవకముందే మళ్ళీ ఉద్యోగులను పట్టుకెళ్ళడం పోలీసులకు సవాల్ గా మారింది. పోలీసులు మన్యంలో కూంబింగ్ తీవ్రతరం చేశారు. అయినప్పటికీ అటు బాక్సైట్ తవ్వకాలకు వ్యతిరేకంగా ఇటు కాఫీ తోటలపై హక్కు కోసం గ్రామాల్లో ఆదివాసులు సభలు సమావేశాలు నిర్వహిస్తూనే ఉన్నారు.

In very high doses, aluminium is associated with altered function of the blood–brain barrier.[92] A small percentage of people are allergic to aluminium and experience contact dermatitis, digestive disorders, vomiting or other symptoms upon contact or ingestion of products containing aluminium, such as antiperspirants and antacids. In those without allergies, aluminium is not as toxic as heavy metals, but there is evidence of some toxicity if it is consumed in amounts greater than 40 mg/day per kg of body mass.[93] The use of aluminium cookware has not been shown to lead to aluminium toxicity in general, however excessive consumption of antacids containing aluminium compounds and excessive use of aluminium-containing antiperspirants provide more significant exposure levels. Studies have shown that consumption of acidic foods or liquids with aluminium significantly increases aluminium absorption,[94] and maltol has been shown to increase the accumulation of aluminium in nervous and osseous tissue.[95] Furthermore, aluminium increases estrogen-related gene expression in human breast cancer cells cultured in the laboratory.[96] The estrogen-like effects of these salts have led to their classification as a metalloestrogen.The effects of aluminium in antiperspirants have been examined over the course of decades with little evidence of skin irritation.[8] Nonetheless, its occurrence in antiperspirants, dyes (such as aluminium lake), and food additives has caused concern.[97] Although there is little evidence that normal exposure to aluminium presents a risk to healthy adults,[98] some studies point to risks associated with increased exposure to the metal.[97] Aluminium in food may be absorbed more than aluminium from water.[99] It is classified as a non-carcinogen by the US Department of Health and Human Services.[93]
In case of suspected sudden intake of a large amount of aluminium, deferoxamine mesylate may be given to help eliminate it from the body by chelation.[100]
Occupational safety[edit]
Exposure to powdered aluminium or aluminium welding fumes can cause pulmonary fibrosis. The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has set a permissible exposure limit of 15 mg/m3 time weighted average (TWA) for total exposure and 5 mg/m3 TWA for respiratory exposure. The US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recommended exposure limit is the same for respiratory exposure but is 10 mg/m3 for total exposure, and 5 mg/m3 for fumes and powder.
Fine aluminium powder can ignite or explode, posing another workplace hazard.[101][102]
Alzheimer's disease[edit]
Aluminium has controversially been implicated as a factor in Alzheimer's disease.[103] According to the Alzheimer's Society, the medical and scientific opinion is that studies have not convincingly demonstrated a causal relationship between aluminium and Alzheimer's disease.[104] Nevertheless, some studies, such as those on the PAQUID cohort,[105] cite aluminium exposure as a risk factor for Alzheimer's disease. Some brain plaques have been found to contain increased levels of the metal.[106] Research in this area has been inconclusive; aluminium accumulation may be a consequence of the disease rather than a causal agent.[107][108]

Global primary aluminum production reached 54 million
metric tonnes in 2014, representing an eight percent rise over 2013.
The world's ten largest aluminum
producers (by output) accounted for over 27 million tonnes, or half of all
production.
Most of this came from Asia, which
was the source of some 36.6 million tonnes, or about two-thirds of total global
production.
Faced with another year of
over-supply, each of the world's four largest producers - UC Rusal, Chalco, Rio
Tinto and Alcoa - cut production from 2013. However, the remaining companies in
the top ten all increased output over the year prior.
London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminum
prices for cash settlement averaged US$ 1,867 per tonne in 2014, a slight
increase over 2013.
The list below is based-upon output from primary refiners as reported in
each company's annual reports for 2014. Production figures - shown beside each
company name - are in thousands of metric tons (kilotonnes or kt).
1. UC Rusal (Russia) - 3,601kt
UC Rusal of Russia tops the list of
the world's largest primary aluminum producers for another year.
Despite a seven percent drop in
production as a result of a capacity curtailment program, the company produced
over 3.6 million tonnes, or about 6.7 percent of global output, in 2014.
The company currently operates 14
aluminum smelters in three countries. Twelve are located in Russia, with one
each in Sweden and Nigeria. Rusal's core assets are located in Siberia, which
accounted for about 95 percent of the company's aluminum production in 2014.

2. Aluminum Corp. of China
(China) - 3,380kt
The Aluminum Corporation of China
(Chalco) remained China's largest aluminum producer in 2014. Although
production reached nearly 3.4 million tonnes, this represented a more than ten
percent decrease from 2013.
Chalco employs over 100,000 staff and also has operations in copper refining, carbon products, gallium and rare earths.
The state-owned company is listed on
the Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York Stock Exchanges.
Its primary aluminum assets include
the Shandong Aluminum Company, Pingguo Aluminum Company, Shanxi Aluminum Plant
and the Lanzhou Aluminum Plant.

3. Rio Tinto (Australia) -

The Australian mining giant Rio Tinto
held onto its spot as the world's third largest primary aluminum producer from
2013 despite a five percent drop in output.
The decreased output was offset by
cost reduction and productivity improvements, which resulted in Rio Tinto's
aluminum group reporting a 124 percent increase in earning in 2014.
The company's primary aluminum
smelters are located in Canada (8 smelters), Cameroon, France, Iceland, Norway
and the Middle East.
Value-added products represented 62
percent of primary metal produced in 2014.

4. China Hongqiao Group Ltd.

China Hongqiao, which only first
showed up on the list of the world's ten largest aluminum producers in 2010,
continued to rise up the list in 2014.
The company leapfrogged Alcoa after
increasing output by over 700,000 metric tonnes (a roughly 30 percent increase)
from 2013.
Output growth has been driven by
capacity expansions and acquisitions, which have provided China Hongqiao with
the largest aluminum production capacity in China.
China's largest private aluminum
producer was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Zouping, Shandong. China
Hongqiao Group Limited is a subsidiary of China Hongqiao Holdings Limited.

The Aluminum Company of America
(Alcoa Inc.), America's largest aluminum producer, continued to reduce capacity
in 2014 while focussing on the development and sale of value-added products.
Total aluminum output was down over
ten percent from 2013 to 3.125 million tonnes following the temporary
curtailment of two smelters in Brazil and the permanent closure of the
Portovesme smelter in Italy.
However, sales of value-added
aluminum allowed the company reported an average price of US$ 2,405 per metric
tonne in 2014, a seven percent increase over the year prior.
Founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
in 1888, Alcoa now operates in 31 countries worldwide.
Key aluminum assets include the
Fjardaál smelter (Iceland), Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals (Australia), the
Baie-Comeau and Becancour smelters (Canada), as well as the San Cibrao smelter
(Spain) and smelters in Newburgh (Indiana), Ferndale (Washington) and Rockdale
(Texas).

(CPI) aluminum assets increased output after falling in 2013.
Total primary aluminum output reach
nearly 2.7 million tonnes, representing an increase of about 10 percent from
the year prior.
CPI, China's second largest
state-owned aluminum producer - and third largest in the country - is a
comprehensive investment group that holds assets in power generation, coal,
aluminum, railways and ports.
The company was founded in 2002. Its
major aluminum assets include the Ningxia Qingtongxia Energy and Aluminum and
CPI Aluminum International Trading Co. Ltd.

Ltd. is China's second largest private aluminum producer.
Following a 20 percent rise in output
in 2013, the company again increased output in 2014 - this time by about ten
percent - to over 2.3 million tonnes.

the Shandong Province of eastern China, the company has over 50 subsidiaries in
power generation, alumina and aluminum refining, carbon production and

9. Norsk Hydro ASA (Norway) -

Reporting a one percent increase in
output over 2013, Norsk Hydro's aluminum production reached nearly 1.96 million
tonnes in 2014.
The Norwegian company is a fully
integrated aluminum producer, with operations that include bauxite mines,
alumina refining, primary metal production, as well as value-added casting.
Norsk employs 13,000 people in 50
countries and is Norway's second-largest power production operator.
The company's largest aluminum
smelters include Sunndal (Norway), Ardal (Norway), Alouette (Canada), a 51
percent stake in Albras (Brazil) and a 50 percent stake in Qatalum
(Qatar).

10. East Hope Group (China) -

East Hope Group is another of China's
rapidly growing private aluminum producers.
The company's output grew from 1.24
million tonnes in 2013 to nearly 1.4 million tonnes in 2014.
Founded in 2003 and based in
Sanmenxia, Henan Province, East Hope Aluminum Co. Ltd. is a subsidiary of East
Hope Group Company Ltd.
The company's main aluminum assets
are located in Henan, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang. East Hope Aluminum confirmed
late in the year that it is still expecting to bring phase one of a 800,000
tonne-per-year aluminum smelter in online in 2015.
